Athens, the capital of Greece, is a beautiful city that never sleeps! During my trip, I toured the Acropolis and its museum, which were amazing and extremely educational. This tour is a "must" for anyone traveling to Greece.
After my tour, I went to "Plaka", a traditional area in Athens, where I picked up some souvenirs for my parents and ate "souvlaki", which is a typical Greek delight that I would highly recommend to anyone. The areas of Plaka, Psiri and Thisio should also be visited at night for dinner at the traditional "bouzouki" taverns or just for a drink at one of the many bars playing Greek or foreign music.
For shopping, I suggest Ermou Street, which is next to Syntagma square, as well as Kolonaki Square, the trendiest spot in Athens for shopping and having coffee. Apart from the center of Athens, there are many other interesting areas like Piraeus, which is the main port in Athens and famous for its many fish taverns and great shopping.
