Chios island is suggested for quiet family or not vacations. The town of Chios, due to the variety of hotels, shopping market and entertainment possibilities is the preferable place of residence for tourist as well as a convenient area form where to explore the island. Begin your day by having a Greek coffee accompanied by the traditional, locally produced, desert called "ypobrixio" at one of the coffee shops on the harbor. Go shopping at the picturesque market, where you can find the traditional products of the island, which include various jam deserts, doughnuts with honey and mastixa desert produced from the mastic trees that thrive only within the 21 mastic villages of southern Chios. Distances are long so it is worth it to rent a car in order to visit the beautiful villages and beaches of the island.
